The Yorkshire 100 visits Airedale for the very first time starting from the old market town of Skipton.
From here the route sets off following the Aire Valley and the Leeds/Liverpool canal to Gargrave then turns northwards to visit Malham, Settle and Ingleton.
From Ingleton it is then up to Ingleborough, the highest point of the route at 2372 ft above sea level.
After a five mile descent to Horton-in-Ribblesdale it is onwards to Wensleydale and breakfast at the 52 mile point at Hawes.
After a quick freshen up we then depart for Bainbridge before turning south towards the first checkpoint is at Stalling Busk, which has been a CP on two previous Dales 100s.
It is then up to Stake Moss and a welcome 28 miles net descent down to Buckden. The route continues down Wharfedale to Addingham.
Now, leaving Wharfedale, the route turns westwards over Draughton Moor and back to Skipton.
The route has been planned with a view of a high completion rate.
There are just over 12,000ft of downhill and nearly 44% of the climbing is in the first 33 miles.
